Day 74 - Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand
Rog & I were up at 5am so we could see the beautiful sunrise. The sky was pink, blue, yellow and orange. It was so pretty and we were glad we were up to watch it.
We walked up the rocks of the western headland at Lucky Bay and admired the view. It was very pretty with all the colours of the water.
We then drove to Hellfire Bay which is another beautiful beach and probably our favourite. The kids spent the day swimming, relaxing on the beach and playing in the sand. We went for a walk along the rocks and saw Little Hellfire Bay which is another beautiful beach. As we were standing on the rocks we were chatting to another couple and we spotted a shark. It kept swimming next to the rocks along the weed in the dark water and then it would pop out in the clear water where we could see it. It didn’t stay around for long and was gone. The kids then played on the sand for about 45 mins then wanted to go for another swim. So we moved into the middle of the beach and I stood in the water on shark patrol (not expecting to see one). The kids had lots of fun bodysurfing the waves in and then I spotted the shark so they quickly swam in. Josh and I then raced up the rocks to have a better look and to make sure I really did see it. I certainly did and we were shocked that it was swimming in such shallow water and right where the kids had been bodysurfing. Rog quickly got another couple out of the water as the shark was heading straight for them. It swam around for ages and Josh enjoyed pointing it out to everyone who came up on the rocks. Rog was chatting to another guy on the beach and had to keep warning everyone who was about to go for a swim. We spotted it for a third time before we left the beach.
We then drove back to Lucky Bay for dinner.
