How does time go by so fast?! I can't believe it is thursday again already - and ....easter??! Woah!!!!
On tuesday i spent the morning with Sarah and Graham before they headed off to Niagara on the 'Greyhound'! On Monday we had another nice day - i took them out to lookout point and once again the sunshine blessed us!! It was cold too - although maybe not as cold as the last time iwent out there and there was a lot less snow - it was nice - we could see more of the beach. When we got back into the city we went shopping!! Sarah and Graham needed to get some thermals for Montreal as the temperature is a little lower up there!! On monday evening we had decided to have 'last supper' together - as we were in Canada it had to be a big steak!!!! Graham had seen a steak restaurant advertised - Ruth Chris' Steak house - famous throughout North America - so thats where we headed! The restaurant itself is actually based in the Hilton Hotel - which maybe should have told us something! Anyway - we went in and had to get the lift down into the restaurant....however just as we were about to step into the lift i caught sight of the menu on the wall - i threw my hands up and stopped us all getting in the lift - a steak was $98!!!!! Woah - i am backpacking even treats can't cost that much!!! haha!! We all quickly agreed that perhaps we wouldn't be dining in there!! I knew there was lots of places to eat down on King Street West so we headed down there to peruse some menu's. We looked at a couple and settled on a place called "Philthy McNasty's" It turned out to be a good choice! We sat in a booth - like you see on the telly!! and it seemed like a very canadian bar! We had a couple of drinks while reading the food board - needless to say that the drink went straight to my head as it was getting on for 10pm and i was starving!! Graham had steak with chips, Sarah had Steak with Mash and i had Fajita's with Steak! Yum!! this was a decision i reached with the help of the waitress as i had chosen 3 dishes that iw anted and had become very stuck with what to choose!!!! Although to be fair i would have liked the whole menu!!!! We also had a pudding!! - chocolate fudge sundae - me and Sarah were disappointed when it arrived as it looked small but - it was spot on - anymore and we could have been sick!! We stayed for a few more drinks and a funny evening! Graham even did a little dance - he's funny!! It was St Patricks day so there was a good atmosphere in the bar.
Tuesday morning we went for breakfast in a little cafe in St Lawrence market - i think the cafe has been there years and has a lot of regulars - the food was again very good! I was sad to see them leave and as hard as i tried not to - i cried when i left the bus station and said 'seeya later'. Sarah was awesome and didn't cry!! I had an awesome time though and it was really special to be able to share some part of this trip with 2 of my bestest friends!!
I love them. I love all my family and friends
