Friday 11th September
Up early, Mal tweaked the last of his images and uploaded to Dropbox.
Col and Sue were packing up and Mal was helping as he got sorted he also helped the job of packing up to depart Moresby.
We left around 11am and had lunch in Cardwell - then drove on to Ingham - booked into the caravan park. Col drove us back to the wetlands (Tyto) where we wandered around till just before sunset. It is a lovely walk though it is dry at this time of the year. We did not get to see the owl the park is named after however it was still worth it.
Well we set up camp and decided to cook tea in the camp kitchen. Col chatted up a young Belgian couple and that evolved into a sing a long - they had a small pink guitar and of course Mal played his guitar as well. It was a fun night but it was a late night and we were glad to call it quits, have a shower and go to bed.
Saturday 12th September
We were on the road heading South by 8am and the day was looking good from a weather perspective.
Rob was home in Townsville and we dropped in for a cuppa - heard about what he has been up to and also found out he will be down our way in about two weeks - so we hope he will be able to come and stay.
Just South of Bowen we stopped for a late lunch and a rest and then drove to Seaforth to meet up with Col. The caravan Park at Seaforth is very peaceful - more a campground than a caravan Park - inexpensive and with lots of lovely shade and easy access to the beach.
We walked along the beach, as the sun was low in the sky. The tide was out and the beach was wide. Col related stories of when he and his two brothers grew up in Seaforth. Much of what he knew is still apparent in the local area so it is a great trip along memory beach.
We cooked tea in the very nice and new BBQ / camp kitchen and then had an early night after the late night, last night.
