Well departure day from Lockhart River.
We all did the selfies on the phones, this one with that one excetra.
Jo went off to school and we packed our stuff, looked around to see what we had forgotten and headed down to the fuel depot to top up the tank - $1.60 /L - which is very reasonable - actually so reasonable we thought must be subsidized by our mate Joe in Canberra.
Lockhart River undoubtedly has it's problems - it's a dry community - well that keeps the white folk dry - but other than that it is just a black market for those who get rich bringing it in.
The housing is actually very good, Cherbourg is much worse - the dogs, and there are many, actually look pretty well fed, they certainly have not lost their bark.
The most obvious disfigurements are the broken down, trashed out Toyotas that litter the footpaths - if the council took them and built a reef out of them the town would look good, except for a few un-mown lawns.
We stopped several times on the way out to look at stuff likes flowers for Tahnee, ant hills for Sue, Mountains, rocks and rivers for Mal.
We had a cuppa at Pauline's Lagoon and then had a smooth run through to Archer River.
Camped in the roadhouse park, the neighbours Neil and Barbara came over to check out Vicki because we were set up in 5 minutes and he had taken over an hour to put up his tent.
We went for a swim in the river and Sue had a camp and Mal started work on a flower drawing for Tahnee.
The generators in the campground, gradually went silent but the generator at the roadhouse ran on for most of the night.
