Ben and Belle asked the family to join them as they tried out their new Colorado 4x4 and camper trailer - so we joined in on Friday and then Tim came along on Saturday and brought Ellie.

We stayed in the Killarney View Caravan Park on both Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday we drove up to the Head via the 14 crossings of the Condamine River.

It was a good run except that a chap got his 2 wheel drive Toyota stuck in a crossing and a person with a Prado with a winch would not assist - when asked he replied, "I got it for me" - and no he wasn't a teenager with a "ME" obsession.

We had lunch at the cafe at the Head, which was fantastic - and then walked down to Queen Mary Falls, before arriving back at the caravan park not long before Tim and Ellie arrived.

On Sunday morning we had bacon and eggs before doing the track across to Mount Colliary - it was steep and rough but a small adventure.

We returned to Queen Mary Falls so Ellie could feed the birds, but it had started raining and the birds had all gone home to watch television. So we had morning tea.

We drove home together, Ellie went with Ben and Belle and Tim followed us home for coffee before departing.

It was a spendid week end.
