Fitzroy Crossing 21/6/15 A great stay here at the Lodge/caravan park on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy. The Crossing is a dry town, so no pubs as such but the lodge has a restaurant and bar where all are welcome to drink so long as patrons are compliant. Derby 19/6/15 Sunsets on the jetty at Derby are special, worth ordering fish and chips and downing with a beer while the sun is setting. Derby is on a peninsula surrounded by tidal mudflats which seem to stretch for miles. Broome 12/6/15 First port of call was the car wash!!! Everything, including us was covered in red dust from Mt Augustus and Newman not to mention Tom Price and most of all Karajini NP. We found a nice park for our stay just a block back from Cable Beach. Barn Hill Station 10/6/15 This is a little gem! Camp ground is basic offering open showers and toilets, just surrounded by corrugated iron, all that can be seen are legs and heads! And once in the know, shower before sunset, the water is heated by sun in black pipes lying on the ground - I guess that's solar? It's worth staying for the vanilla slice they are known for, baked at the station kitchen, and not to mention the Orange cliffs dropping into the blue wat...
