Kalgoorlie-Boulder 15/3/15
The Nullarbor is undulating at times, but we soon approached the longest straightest stretch of road ( 145km) in Australia between Caiguna and The old Telegraph ruin. The drive is quite interesting from Balladonia to Norseman, travelling through the Fraser Range displaying scenic granite hills and the roadside lined with the world's largest eucalyptus hardwood forest. The trees were shedding bark which enhanced the look of the forest especially with sunlight filtering between the trees. The architecture of Kalgoorlie was a surprise, some grand old pubs of various styles, wrought iron balustrades, turrets and of course some buildings of the originalRed Light district still exist. The links golf course was superb, maintained to perfection. We would like to revisit the town sometime in the future as we would for the Nullarbor too.
