Steve & Barbs Aussie Tour
Pardoo Station 9/6/15
Amazing landscapes of spinifex covered mountain ranges with bands of exposed orange and black sandstone, that's the Hammersley Ranges! The landscape flattens out to clumps of Boulder covered plains further towards Port Headland. Called into Port Headland for a look and enjoyed lunch at the old railwagon restaurant, destination Pardoo Station. Just 50 km off the GNH and the road in is well maintained. Pardoo is still a working station, the cattle yards being adjacent to the large camp grounds which have street names. It was exciting, cattle had been mustered and yarded, loading the road trains went on into the night. Keen fishermen like to camp here, not so far off the coast, tide dependent.
