Barn Hill Station 10/6/15
This is a little gem! Camp ground is basic offering open showers and toilets, just surrounded by corrugated iron, all that can be seen are legs and heads! And once in the know, shower before sunset, the water is heated by sun in black pipes lying on the ground - I guess that's solar? It's worth staying for the vanilla slice they are known for, baked at the station kitchen, and not to mention the Orange cliffs dropping into the blue waters of the Indian Ocean at sunset. It's really about the shelled beach, sandstone cliffs, rock formations on the beach and numerous rock pools along the shore line, throw in some wildflowers and tremendous walks along the beach - all this at your backdoor at very little expense!! Too good to leave
