So on Monday I tried to call the NSW (New South Wales) surfing association for about 4 hours, but they were busy the whole time. Finally I tried to call the guy from the surf school, but he wasn't there, so.. I just went to Manly (north of Sydney) by ferry and I bought a new surfboard: really nice: 6'3 swallow tail: a JS (a real Australian board ;-). The guy from the surf shop, Gary, was really nice and advised me to go to the Manly Surf School to look for a job. When I got there, the guy I needed wasn't there, but he'd be there tomorrow and yes, they did hire foreigners!! As I walked back tot the ferry, I passed by an internet café, had a chat with my mum, and then I passed a backpackers hostel. I went in to get some information and suddenly I booked a bed for the next week starting the next day. I left my board at the backpackers (enough to carry already the next day) and I took a ride on the jetcat (with Rob) back home. My roomies in Central Sydney were sad that I had to leave, and I was to, but I couldn't stay there anyway…Tuesday I packed my bag and left early. I rang Matt, the manager of the surf school and passed by around noon. He made me talk to Nick, the 'boss' in Manly and he was really positive. For this week they were okay, but he was definitely going to give me a ring next week… so that means… holidays for now. I was really tired after the past days: I never had some extra sleep to get over the jetlag, so I passed out in my bed in the hostel and had a late yoghurt-dinner ;). Wednesday morning I finally went for a surf on my new surfboard and I'm really happy with it. At the end of the session, some guy dropped in on me, so I stopped, holdingmy board next to me, but the guy fell of andhis board just flew around and hit mine… ding ding ding LOnly a small ding, but it needed to be repaired and I only had the board for a day or two. The funny thing was that the guy that dinged my board was Dutch!! His name is Jilles and he's living here with his Irish girlfriend. We took the board to Gary and he's going to try to get it repaired by Friday… but he gave me a borrow-board, which is really cool!Today (Thursday) I had another morning-surf and I gave two of my roomies ( Sandra from Germany and Amy from Ireland) a surfing lesson. Then we chilled on the beach and played some volleyball. In the evening I went to a yoga class: yoga for surfers. I always wanted to do yoga and well, I saw a flyer few days ago and they had a good intro-offer, so I'm going to try 5 yoga classes within the next ten days. I really liked it a lot. Afterwards I had a chat with the guy next to me, Robbie, and he said he had a room for rent at his house. It was an amazing room and the other girl that was living there could speak Dutch!! She'd had a Dutch boyfriend for 4 years and even lived in Utrecht. But the room is to expensive for me now.. Just want to make sure I really get that job and then maybe… we'll see…Anyway, that's about it for now, tomorrow another early-morning-surf and there will be the annual Manly Jazz Festival this weekend, so that's really cool. And it's my mum's birthday tomorrow, so I have to go on the internet to congratulate her…Weltrusten
