Hey Everyone,
I am sure by now that everyone has heard the results of the US election. I must say how many people care about their policitics here and know so much about it, even college students! You would never get that in Australia. I had a feeling Obama was going to win as almost everyone that I had spoken to was voting for him. That said every tv in America was tuned in to the election results all of Tuesday night. We even had a peak after bible study at our leaders house! I got back and there were people sitting in the basement just waiting for the result, not knowing what was going to happen. It was just after 11 that the result was released and me not caring a bit could here people running up and down my hall, sharing their elation or dissapointment (more elation!). I could then hear people outside chanting Obama's name, so it shall be interesting what happens when he takes over.
The rest of the week was uneventful until Saturday. Emily and I decicded to take a trip to the mall in the next town. We left at 9 that morning and arrived home just before 7 so you can see it was a successful day! But that night was the Alexander Hall formal so we had a reason to go!! Lol But Saturday night was fun. We had a dinner first, and then we all headed back to the residence hall while they cleared away the tables and then we all headed back there to dance the night away. It was probably one of the best nights I have had since I got here, everyone was there for a good time and it was fun!
And Bekah (my roomate) and I now have photographic evidence that we do see each other. It's a running joke that we never see each other because she is a architecture student andalways in studio and I am so busy too so we always miss each other! But now we have proof which is now proudly displayed on our door to our room!
That is all for now. Semester ends in just over a month so all the papers are due right at the moment! But I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Break! Good luck to everyone at home writing exams at the moment! And keep sending me all your news, I love hearing what it going on at home!
xx
