As you will all know last Friday was Halloween...and yes Americans still love this holiday, even college students!! So there was much excitement all week about costumes, and parties and whatever else. As you can probably tell Emily and I dressed up as a bumble bee and lady bug as we could not possibly get out of the Halloween tradition! We ended up going to Hillsborough Street on the adge of campus to a nightclub and danced the night away. Quite fun, and interestin with everyone dressed up!

There is a town about 20 mins away from here called Chapel Hill. There has been a tradition over many years that students dress up and go to the main street in the town (Franklin Street) and create a big party there. Apparently its absolutely crazy and last year they had 80,000 students!! But this year they cracked down on parking and you had to have a UNC student ID card to get there (thats the local uni thats in the town). But yes Halloween is massive here just like in the movies!

Then on Saturday Emily and I joined one of our friends at this US Marine dinner/ball thing. He is a part of the Marines but he is studying at State at the moment. Heaps of young people here are in the military, its actually crazy how many are! It was in Greensboro which is about an hours drive from Raleigh, so we drove down on the Sat and then came back on the Sunday. It was quite a fun night and it was interesting to see all the Marines in their formal uniforms and the ceremony thing they had before hand. And we got a free dinner that was really good!

But after all the partying on the weekend I am so tired now! And school is so crazy at the moment! Lots of tests and papers due soon so its lots of study for the next couple of weeks!
