Hey guys...

Well today Uni Housing organised a free trip for 30 of us from Alexander Hall to go to Wilmington and Carolina Beach for teh day. So after leaving 7:45 in the morning we arrived in Wilmington around 10am.

First stop for the day was the USS North Carolina, a retired US Navy Battleship. It was really cool just walking around and as you can see from the photos we had plenty of fun mucking about!! But it was interesting to see the boat and there were so many stairs to try and get down...it was almost impossible!!

After this we all hopped back on the bus and drove into downtown WIlmington for lunch. It was a really nice, little old style town and we all had pizza for lunch :P Followed by ice cream! Haha

And then came the most exciting part of the day...the beach! After driving 40 minutes to Carolina Beach, we all piled off the bus and headed to the sand. The afternoon was spent relazing and sun baking. But the waves were really big and we had to keep moving away from the water coz the tide was coming in! I didnt swim but lots of the others did and it was an enjoyable afternoon all the same!

So after the long day we all got back on the bus and arrived back in Raleigh (to pouring rain I might addd) and all went to bed.

So a good day all round! And the beach wasnt too bad, of course not as good as the likes of Cottesloe and that :P
