Ross and Nina Uncut
G'day! Looks like we made it to the other side of the world and we're now down under in sunny Australia. Really good to be back to what we would call normal although ordering a pint seems to be impossible here!
We arrived early in Sydney and headed to the coast and a suburb called Coogee where our friend Bruce has moved to with his Australian girlfriend. We spent the day on the internet looking at jobs and accomadation for the next few months before meeting Bruce at his local so he could show us his flat. He kindly put us up for a couple of days whilst we checked out a few flats.
Our first day there and he took us to the beach for a bbq and some of his home brew! Doesnt get much more aussie than that. He also took us along to the Rangers supporters club in Sydney to watch the old firm game. The game didnt start until 11 at night so you can imagine the state some people were in by 3!
We moved into a wee flat in Randwick last week which is really nice and its only 10 mins walk to the beach! Its also really close to plenty of shops and loads of buses so geting into town is fairly easy. Ross had some luck in getting a job as well so we wont starve!
He managed to blag a job painting a Weirs pump factory in the North of Sydney for the next 3 months. Its a bit strange getting the train across the harbour bridge and seeing the sydney opera house on your way to work every morning!
Nina has signed up for a child care agency but she has to wait for security checks before she can start. God damm these people protecting kids! Just messing. So hopefully we will be totally sorted by next week.
We had a cheap weekend this week so we went to the beach on Saturday and watched a beach volleyball competition and today we are going to Randwick race course to have a look around. No races on this week though but we might go in March.
