We stopped off in Port Macquarie as we had heard it was a good place to see Koalas. The area around this small town is full of Eucalyptus trees so there are loads in the local area. We hired a couple of mountain bikes and went for a cycle about the local area and saw all the sights including the Koala hospital where we saw injured koalas being fed and looked after. There wasnt much else in port macquarie as its a bit of a retirement town so we caught the bus up the coast to Byron Bay for Ross' birthday.
