Started the day by heading to the recommended Sea Cow restaurant for breakfast. Enjoyed an omelette and coffee on the screened porch, followed by some light shopping at the two stores in the same complex.
Headed back to the resort with the idea of renting bikes to go exploring. We are right on the golf course, and Larry considered going, but the humidity is quite heavy. In fact Mother Nature had an other idea. Experienced a shower, followed by quite a downpour. By a little after 11 though, that all seemed to be clearing.
Went off to check out the recreation center and pool. Discovered a miniature golf course, so we played a game. My second round of golf this trip! (Miniature, that is)
Weather continued to improve, so we went ahead and rented bikes for the afternoon. Went back, changed, mixed some drinks, and off we went. Had a map and were heading towards the beach and cabana where Wyndham has chairs. On the way found a bike trail. Fantastic trail that lead through the low county palms and trees, while running parallel to the beach. Needed to get off and ride on the streets, but those all had bike sections on them.
Found our way to the beach, scored some chairs, took them down near the water, and relaxed. Enjoyed our drinks, the ocean breeze, and the sun, as the day has turned into some lovely weather!
Spent the afternoon on the beach,( even saw some dolphins playing!), but realized it was time to get back. Hopped on our bikes for the trip back. Appears this island is very bike friendly with all its paths. Would really love to come back and spend a few days discovering them all.
Showered, and decided to head to the marina area for dinner. Walked there as it was under a mile. Had a nice dinner at Pressley's and got to see a cloudy sunset over the marsh , and boats returning to dock for the night. Lovely.
Back for the night. Hoping to leave early tomorrow. Another long drive to the Skyland resort on the Skyline Drive, Virginia.
