I had the worst day EVER yesterday...!! :-(
I went back to the house to do some cleaning and to get the chicken out of the freezer for dinner. I started cleaning, emptying the bins first and I took the rubbish outside, well I put it outside the door ready to take down to the bins and the door closed behind me!!! I actually stopped breathing for a few seconds, thinking 'this is not happening to me', but I was wrong, it was!
I was wearing a skirt and a vest and nothing on my feet, I had no phone, I didnt know Lisas number, I had no money and the keys were on the dining room tabel where I had left them earlier in the day. I started freaking out, I just wanted to cry, instead I thought it would be a good idea to climb out of the second floor window on the corridor to see if I could get through the kitchen window which I had left open - no such luck - if only I was another foot in height!
I knocked on two of the neighbours doors, no answer. I tried another door and luckily an old guy called Allan answered the door and I explained that I was housesitting upstairs and that I had locked myself out of the house. He was really helppful (well as much as he could be). H told me that the best thing to do was to call the locksmith, I was hesitant because I knew it would cost alot of money. I asked him if he would mind calling the locksmith to find out how much it would be, so he made the call and told me that it would cost $140 - I was fuming!
We only had the one key for the house, so I didnt know what else to do. I told Allan that I would wait for an hour incase Lisa came home and maybe she would have a suggestion, or at least know someone who owns a ladder!
So, I went for a walk along the street to see if I could find someone thatowns a ladder. I aske d this guy from Essex and he helped me for about half an hour, he took me to some garages (bear in mind Im still bare footed at the time!) but we couldnt find anything. We were walking back and I spotted a huge extending ladder in a garden, I got slightly excited, well I was jumping up and down, but I knocked on the door and asked the lady really politely if I could borrow the ladder because I had locked myself out of the second floor house, and she said no! I couldnt believe it! I just thought to myself as I walked away 'what goes around comes around b****'! Haha! So I was no further along.
I remembered that Lisa's moble number was on her facebook profile, but Allan didnt have the intereet, but he gave me $3 to walk to the shop to use the internet, about half an hour away. So, there I was, walking around a suburb in Sydney, with no money, phone or shoes and I was so pissed off! I got onto the internet, found her number and went back to Allan's to use his phone to call Lisa. I called her, she sounded really annoyed, but she said it didnt matter and that things like that happen (only to me, Id like to add!) She made a few calls to see if she knew anyone that could get us into the house but she didnt.
I had to ask Allan to call the locksmiths out. I was gutted. Allan paid the guy for me and as soon as Lisa and Jon got home they paid back Allan for me. I have to find the money to give back to Lisa as soon as possible. So, after two and a hlaf hours on the street and $140 later, I was in the house again. I was too worried about going back out again so I stayed in for the rest of the afternoon and watched tv. I still cant believe it happened. Gutted.
New Zealand and Australia were playing rugby last night so we watched that after dinner. I cooked a tandoori chicken and rice dish with fresh vegetables.
After a long and emotional day, I was in bed by 11pm.
