We walked through Windjana Gorge this morning. We saw 29 freshwater crocs lying on the banks sunning themselves (yep the kids were counting them). We walked down to Bell Gorge this morning after Geoff and Pippy cooked some orange and poppy seed muffins on the weber. It is a hot walk to the gorge which brings you out at the top of the falls then a rock scramble down to the bottom pools where we had a swim in the lovely deep, green, cool water. More gorgeous gorges today. We took in Galvan Gorge and Adcock Gorge which were both pretty short walks from the Gibb River Rd. At Adcock Gorge Benjie spotted some of the green sugar ants we had when we went on our bush tucker safari whilst in Kakadu. Today we walked to Manning Gorge, about an hour and a half walk from the camping area. It is an exciting start to the walk as the first thing you need to do is swim across a river. There are some old polystyrene boxes on the bank you can put your clothes and cameras in and float them across to keep them dry. This morning we went into the workshop to assess the tyre damage. And damage it was. Both tyres were irreparable with gashes between 2-3cm long, right through the thickest part of the tread. Cecil (the car) has 18 inch wheels which are not common in these parts (too fancy for a Toyota!)
