We have spent the last 2 days in Broome regrouping (re-stocking and washing) and also getting a teensy little issue with the car looked at - hmmmm. We swam at Cable Beach with brown jellyfish during the day and at night we tried our luck fishing off the Broome jetty - nothing. Geoff dragged us out of bed at 630 this morning in search of some 126 million year old dinosaur footprints. They are only visible when the tide is at a dead low which only happens a couple of times a month. We found the footprints - marvellous! The rest of the day was spent wandering around Broome and learning about some of the history, in particular the pearl luggers. The highlight of the day was our sunset camel ride on Cable Beach. Drove from Derby to Broome today via an aboriginal community where we watched a film and purchased a piece of aboriginal art which is being sent back to Sydney (let's hope it makes it). Accommodation in the camping grounds in Broome can be very hard to come by.
