The wind howled and the rain poured during the night which all added to the creepiness of being all by ourselves in the middle of nowhere. Miraculously the morning brought blue skies and thankfully the wind had dried the wet camper. However the rain during the night resulted in the car and the camper being caked in mud along the track.
We continued along this track that Geoff has become obsessed with between Hyden and Norseman. His obsession lies with the fact that this is about as untouched Australian woodland as you can get and everything is close to its natural state as the climate is so arid. We barely saw another car all morning. A quick stop in Norseman and we were on our way across the Nullabor. So far it has been an easy road to drive. It is long and straight with a moderate amount of traffic - either road trains or caravans. We stopped for the obligatory photo at the sign for Australia's longest straight stretch of road - 90 miles or 146kms.
So far we have seen dingoes, emus, a dead camel and plenty of dead roos.
