Today we walked to Manning Gorge, about an hour and a half walk from the camping area. It is an exciting start to the walk as the first thing you need to do is swim across a river. There are some old polystyrene boxes on the bank you can put your clothes and cameras in and float them across to keep them dry. This morning we went into the workshop to assess the tyre damage. And damage it was. Both tyres were irreparable with gashes between 2-3cm long, right through the thickest part of the tread. Cecil (the car) has 18 inch wheels which are not common in these parts (too fancy for a Toyota!)
