It was sad saying goodbye to Rob, Sara and Tili but hopefully it won't be too long before we see them again. One of the bonuses of this trip has been meeting lots of wonderful people, some of who will be lifelong friends.
Now for part 4 of The Taylor Tyre saga......(parts 1-3 are our 3 punctures to date)........
Before we head towards the Nullabor and off into the Never Never, Geoff wanted to get the tyres rebalanced so he went to get them looked at whilst the kids and I re-stocked at Coles. Turns out we had a nail through the side wall of one of the back tyres that was causing side wall bulge (I know so much about tyres now!) We purchased another tyre which we had to wait to get couriered from another warehouse so we didn't end up getting away until lunchtime. So we are now back to having 4 matching tyres on Cecil which is a good thing other than the dent it has made in Geoffrey's wallet.
The road we have chosen to take is pretty much directly east from Perth and took us right through the wheat belt of WA. The scenery was a patchwork of colourful fields.
We stopped at Wave Rock near Hyden where the kids pretended to surf on the granite.
Sara had packed us off with a complete roast dinner for tonight which was an absolute blessing as we didn't arrive into our free camping spot until well after dark and we were all a bit tired and cranky (dodging all those roos is very stressful). There is no one else in this free camp which Geoff thinks is great but I find a bit freaky.
