No ghost visits during the night. Geoff, Philip and Philip's mate got up at sunrise and went off to shoot more goats. They came home mid morning with a little surprise - a kid goat (they had shot the mum). It was probably a few weeks old and very cute. The kids fed it powdered milk with a baby's bottle and named it Patches and then of course the pressure was on to bring it home with us. We drove through the edge of the Flinders Ranges today and through quintessential Aussie towns such as Wilmington, Orroroo and Peterborough, all with wide dusty main streets and lovely loo's (decorated by the CWA). Not a lot to report today. We stopped and took a photo of the Big Galah (and his mate) at Kimba on our way to Port Augusta. Kimba is geographically half way across Australia as the crow flies. We also drove past Iron k*** which is where it all began for BHP and iron ore mining. Once we arrived in Port Augusta we went to the Wadlata Outback Discovery Centre which re-tells of life in the outback since the dawn of time. Our caravan park tonight overlooks the Flinder...

Spent the morning watching about 25 Southern Right Whales and their calves. Nature is a beautiful thing. The whales come to Head of Bight to calve and stay around for a few months until their calves are strong enough to swim and then they go back to their feeding grounds in the Antarctic. Geoff and I could have happily stayed there all day watching them. Instead we got back on the road and conquered the remainder of the Nullabor. So it took 2 half days and 1 full...

More of the same today really. Although some nice lookouts on top of the 90 meter cliffs over the Great Australian Bight. No barriers at some of them so held onto kids very tightly. Kids have been pretty good in the car as we eat up the km's. We had a game of cricket today when we got to camp so they could burn off some energy.
