Javelin Round Britain 2011
Fantastic weather, light winds and sunny. We are in Oban a day early, what a change after last week. Today we had 6 hours of tide with us which pushed us all the way to Oban. We can see Ben Nevis in the distance and all the other mountains are beautiful in the sunlight. Came up the Sound of Luinga with a speed of the ground of 10.4 knots thanks to over 4.5. knots of favourable tide. Javelin was violently jerked off course by the whirlpools and eddies. We have seen lots of seals and jellyfish of all shapes, sizes and colours.
Tomorrow we swap crew with Sue and Richard joining and Trevor leaving. Have decided to do Caledonian canal and will be heading up to Fort William.

Tim Wick Caledonian Canal, taking a short cut eh? Do you still intend to be in Wick next Saturday or will you settle for Inverness? Happy sailing;-)
