Well done Peter. Time flies. It goes to show you have to plan to make things happen else the time just flies past.

Hi Peter, Welcome to Ramsgate, Welcome to my world!
Last time I was moored where you are now,
( about a year ago), we got stuck in the mud about 10 feet short of the pontoon for about 3 hours. You might want to check out this link:

Hope the VHF is holding out.

Well done the "Famous Five" - you must be record breakers! 3 days to eat up the canal - what didn't you like about it?! Looks like you're lining up to do 2 laps - enjoy

“In battle, in the forest, at the precipice in the mountains, On the dark great sea, in the midst of javelins and arrows, In sleep, in confusion, in the depths of shame, The good deeds a man has done before defend him” Great to see you are doing so well - hope you are taking time to appreciate the lansdscape and not working too hard. What did Neil do to get sent up the mast?
Gary
just got bck from our cruise to Holland and glad to see that your circumnavigation is going so well, you certainly are eating up the miles on Javelin. Will be in the Clyde sailing next week so will have just missed you. Safe journey. Gary and Anita

Slow down Peter else you will be back to work by Monday. You might even get your job back.

Glad to see you are enjoying calm seas and nice weather so far. I am still navigating the stormy waters around Kingston - expecting some rough conditions to come from across the Atlantic, but they might not hit us for a month or so.
Think you got the better deal....

"During the era between the Mycenaean times and the Roman Empire, the javelin was a commonly used offensive weapon. Being lighter than the spear, the javelin would be thrown rather than thrust and thus allowed long distance attacks against one’s enemy. Athletes, however, used javelins that were much lighter than military ones because the idea of the event was to demonstrate distance rather than penetration." So....the Javelin is good for long distance attacks. The start is not so important. It's duration and strength of character that will win through in the end.
So glad to see that you are making good progress.
