Set off at 8:15 bound for Amble but strong winds and big seas made progress very slow and we would not have been ablest make Amble in time. Amble can only be entered 3 hours either side of high water. We decided to turn back to Eyemouth and were back in the harbour by 10:30 completely soaked and rather dejected. We decided to make the best of the rest of the day and visited Gungreen house, which is a museum dedicated to the original owner who was a merchant smuggler. The crew got into the spirit by dressing up, see photos!! Later on we played ten pin bowling and so found ways to enjoy the day despite the rain for a 5th consecutive day. The river entering the harbour is very swollen washing down trees which make exiting the harbour difficult.
