After 4 days weather bound in Peterhead, the crew started to get harbour fever. There are only so many museums and castles you can see. We planned to leave at 4am on Wednesday but the weather improved faster on Tuesday than expected and when the sun came out that was enough. We had an early dinner aboard in harbour and set off for Eyemouth at 19:38. Initially we had a wind behind and big rolling seas so made excellent progress. As we approached Aberdeen the wind dropped and changed direction so motor sailed. Lots of shipping around Aberdeen and had to take avoiding action a couple of times. The worst was a trawler, they are always hard to determine their course and what they are. As the night went on the rain started, it rained solidly all the way to Eyemouth. We arrived at 13:30 and went to the pub for lunch and drying out. Today we plan an 8:00 start heading to Amble past Lindisfarne. The rain is forecast to be only occasional today so we hope it lives up to it's word.
