Day 10
We are starting to get used to a 5:45 alarm.
Stayed at the A List Hotel overnight and preordered breakfast for 6:30 in the dining room which was in fact waiting for us when we arrived. Hardly anyone else staying so had great service. Checked out and headed to the spot where the minibus leaves for Hatyai and there was one there so jumped on. 34 bht each for the trip which took about an hour. (bit over a $1.50) Can't grumble at that! Arrived at a different bus station to the one we arrived at the day before and showed someone a piece of paper with our destination written on. We were then ushered across the road to a rather dingy looking ticket office where we paid 570 bht for two tickets to Krabi departing at 9:00am We considered using the toilet that we could see to the left but then the chap behind the counter walked over to the toilet, opened the door and projected a huge spit into the cubicle which put us off a bit. He did have the decency to slosh a little water onto the already wet floor. As the bus ride was long we eventually had to venture tentatively into the cubicle as this was probably preferable to the alternative of being stuck on a bus of non English speaking people and trying to get the driver to pull over for us! We arrived back in Ao Nang at 3:00pm and had a mango smoothie to celebrate not colliding with anyone during the drive from one side of Thailand to the other and back! After a swim and a beer we had dinner at the Green Curry Restaurant overlooking the road in the busier, noisier end of town. Thai Boxing was in full swing (pun intended) at our resort's outdoor 'entertainment' area, but we scurried past and back to our room where we slept soundly!
