Day 5
Another lovely day and we declared it to be a rest day so after breakfast we just lazed around the pool mostly with the occasional stroll down the main street and we booked a Kayaking trip for Good Friday. Our resort tour desk were a little unenthusiastic when it came to booking something that wasn't in their 'book' even though they had brochures displayed for various other tour groups. We ended up booking with a place down the road and they also knocked 1000 bht off the 4000 bht price for 2. She said "Student Discount", lucky she didn't say "Seniors Discount" or we might have gone somewhere else!
I should mention that Easter doesn't seem to be celebrated here at all and I haven't seen a single Easter Egg or any of the festive crap that adorns our supermarkets and shops at this time of year. (think I might emigrate here!) If I hadn't read an email that referred to Good Friday I would've forgotten it altogether! As the sun started to sink towards the Andaman Sea we found a nice restaurant a little further down the road and actually on the sand. It was another lovely warm evening, probably 28 degC, and we ate dinner and drank some beer. We almost considered having a glass of red as the table next to us had done but Lisa pointed out that the wine appeared to have a 'head' on it so we were happy with our choice!
