We drove through Esperance for a few supplies and it looks like a really nice town. We will come back and explore in a few days, but for now we headed further east to Cape Le Grand National Park.

Driving into Lucky Bay the view is "wow". A mix of deep blue, turquoise and clear water against the white sand looks great. The campsite is being upgraded and looks way behind schedule but once it is complete it will be a great spot. For now though, the camp isn't too great. It is more like a dirt car park with a few basic facilities. Cape LeGrand camp and beach is good but we decided to stay put.


We spent some time in the afternoon down on Lucky Bay. The sand was mostly really firm but to walk on it was like walking on fine grit paper. The section right in front of the camp if pretty full of seaweed though which has bugs through it and stinks so it isn’t great to walk on. There are lots of kangaroos though and they aren’t bothered by people, some are even happy to be patted. We took a beach drive to the other side of Lucky Bay which is really beautiful and has an even better small beach on the other side of some rocks.
