Wow another amazing place. Did some rolling around which resulted in sand everywhere!! Stayed in the State Park with all it's bear warnings on what to do and what not to do. Walked up a trail to a waterfall and found a dead bird which convinced me we had just interrupted a mountain lion at breakfast and so was certain we were about to be pounced on any minute. I am also conquering my fear of high altitudes as you just have no choice. We've been up to nearly 12000 feet and so far I havn't dropped dead, actually I could barely notice it.
Near the sand dunes is a 100,000 acre bison ranch so we drove around that in a 4x4, they are gorgeous, I now want a bison as well as a highland cow. They have a herd of 1000 bison and apart from once a year when they are in the yard for brucolocis dosing and deciding who will make the best buffalo burgers they just roam around. They have one mad cow who they are trying to find so they can shoot her because she has started trying to kill them whenever they are around and given they can outrun their horses she is very dangerous.
