Santa Fe is another town that doesn't really feel American, it has a very strong Mexican influence. All the adobe buildings are fantastic and apparently to get planning permission now you have to build to this style.
Had yummy burrito's for lunch. Very chilled out right down to the policeman who sat in his car in the plaza listening to music and smoking.
That night we went off in search of a sunset over the Rio Grande.
North of Sante Fe is Taos Peublo which is an old working adobe settlement that is now managed by the local native indians. Very cool and lots of great Indian crafts.
Heading out of Taos we crossed the Rio Grande Gorge. I walked out onto the bridge carefully not looking down. When I finally did I felt a little odd and then a big truck came across and the whole bridge shook which sent me scampering back very quickly. Jim however came back after taking a whole lot of scary photos and declared he would love to bungi jump off it. Sometimes I think we are from different planets.
