Wayne's & Bonnie's Travels
We spent the morning on a walking tour of Vienne, a city of about 30,000 people on the banks of the Rhone and was a major city in the Roman empire. It has many well preserved ruins including an amphitheater built into the hillside. It seats about 10,000 and is still used for an annual jazz festival. After the walking tour, we boarded an open sided tram to head up a hill overlooking the city which gave spectacular views of the city. We came back to the ship for their Provence themed "lunch". Beef, lamb, chicken, cheeses, salads and a chocolate fountain were a bit more than lunch but tasted great. The afternoon was spent cruising down the Rhone towards Tournon.
