Yesterday we were in Copenhagen. It was the end of the Scandinavia & Russia portion of cruise and the start of the transatlantic cruise. Since we had already spent two days in Copenhagen and had seen most of the sights, we decided to stay on the ship and relax. We arrived in Oslo mid morning. It was cloudy and cool but it was not raining. Oslo is very walkable and the ship docked near the city, so we did our own walking tour, including the Parliament and the Royal Palace. Oslo is a beautiful city. We wanted to go see the Viking Ship in Oslo. Holland America had a tour there but our table mates told us how to take the local ferry across the bay and then we could walk to it. It was great advice. It was a day at sea heading to Oslo. The North Sea lived up to its reputation. It was VERY rough. We could even hear the bow rising up and then splashing into the water. It seemed like half the passengers were ill. They had bowls of apples and crackers throughout the ship. The man in the cabin next to us did not leave his cabin all day. I have always liked it when the ship bounces around and Bonnie was a trouper - she did great.
