After 24 hours of flying it was great to reach Irun in the Northern part of Spain. Taxi driver from airport to accommodation very helpful in pointing out Albergue and direction of Camino. Brought a few supples for next day. Sorted out pack and crawled into bed. Up at six this morning, called in To Albergue to get a stamp and started the Camino de Norte. A day for surprises, attended the pilgrim mass at the cathedral and believe it or not Douglas had recognised Jean Pierre who we had walked with 2 years ago a very emotion experience. He was with his wife and was meeting some pilgrims that had just completed the Norte Camino. Such a fabulous surprise tears all round. Looking forward to our celebratory dinner at the Parador to night. Will be saying farewell to Colleen as she flys out early in the morning.

Day 10 romped it in to Santiago with a 25 km walk in 5 1/2 hours arrived at the cathedral at 11.50 but not aloud in with packs on so unwind in square and had photo shoot. Lined up to get compostala very proud moment and then lunch and hotel room which Stuart had booked. Celebrated at tapas bar with rino tino and made more pilgrim friends More celebrations tomorrow

Days 29; 30, and 31. 87 km's from Santiago too Finisterre. Here begins another Camino. Had a lovely three day walk out to the most westerly point of Europe or as the pilgrims called it the end of the earth. Shared the walk with Marta, Douglas, Stuart and Jean-Jacque, very pleasant walking, staying at Negreira where we cooked a superb chicken stirfry for dinner and shared it around, then Olveiroa and finally Finisterre. Day 28; From Arca do Pino to Santiago 20 km's. One very amazing day, we have so surprised our selfs. Up early wanting to get into Santiago for 11am so we would be in time for the 12 am pilgrim mass at the cathedral. Had some trouble getting out of town because it was dark and light wasn't so good, but a German couple were also there and we did it together.
