Day 12; Burgos too Hontanas 32km's, the start of the Meseta. Our 12th day on the road.
Lots of fields of barley
Lots of rocks all in piles
Lots of cyclist
Lots of new faces
Lots of old faces
Lots of wind turbines
Lots of jet steams
And two horses
Three possible reasons why people walk the Camino:
1/ to thank God for all the beautiful things we have experienced in our lives. We give thanks we are lucky enough to experience the reality of the Camino de Santiago.
2/ that each of us has in his heart a certain motivation for this pilgrimage. For example, we are looking for an answer to a certain question or hoping for a desire to be granted. Maybe we search for forgiveness? Or maybe only God knows the reason why we are on the road to Santiago. We pray that each of us , thru the apostle St James, may find what he is looking for.
3/ the Camino de Santiago is also called "the Way of the stars". Sometimes these stars seem to be hidden in the vast universe. Like the many stars found out in the sky we will become stars on the Camino, but we will find our way. We think that this is the message St James wants to give us: be the stars on the way and shine. After this pilgrimage we shall be the stars of the Camino, shining for our brothers and sisters and passing the message of Santiago on to the world!

Ginge Hi Sue. Am so enjoying your blog and reading about all your experiences. Sounds marvellous. Well done, you, for doing this. Was so inspired after watching the movie. Take care. love Ginge x
Linda Hi Sue - the Geraldton Rogaine was a thistle and prickle affair, with its own challenges - not the same as a pilgrimage on the Camino. Great to hear how and where you are. Enjoy your sunshine, as we edge our way into winter and look forward to the solstice and light on our morning rides. Cheers Linda F
