Today we made a 4 and a half hour bus trip from Puebla to Oaxaca. We caught a public bus... But in saying that it's not a bus where people haul their bags onto the roof, and hold their chickens in the cabin type of bus!! It was a first class bus!! Plenty of leg room, air conditioning and movies all to make our trip comfortable!! Apparently we do have a chicken truck special in Belize, which freakishly I am looking forward to!!
So everyone will be pleased to know I have now seen frozen!! It was in Spanish, but I got the overall gist of what was happening!! That's good enough for me!!
I am very proud of myself!! Last night I made the decision to send some stuff home! So this morning I made my way into town to try and send this package home!! I had google translated the main things into Spanish and written them down, so I quite easily managed to get my package boxed, wrapped and addressed up!! I then went to the post office (across the street) to send it off!! This was a little more difficult... The lady was asking me if any of my goods were explosive, liquids etc!! Hahahaha, I had no idea what she was saying... After a lot of miming on both of our behalf's we worked out that my package was safe! Next step filing out a Spanish customs declaration!! I don't even know if I was writing the right information in the right boxes... But eventually it was completed!! I had at least written something in each of the boxes!! After paying an arm and a leg plus a kidney my parcel is on it's way home!!
Last night I had also come to the realisation that I am sick of Mexican food!! Yes, you heard right ladies and gentlemen!! If I have to eat another corn tortilla I'm going to be sick!! I think my entire tour group (all 5 of us) are in the same boat!!
After we arrived at Oaxaca we took a short taxi ride from the bus terminal to our hotel!! Nice to see that the taxi drivers in Oaxaca are just as speedy as Mexico City!! I tried to put my seat belt on.... only to find there was a seatbelt but no plug to plug it into to!! Prefect!!
The hotel is really cute!! Again... we have wifi at the hotel, but it only works when you are pretty much sitting on the check in counter!!
I'm now just enjoying my $2 pre-dinner corona!! Yep, you can't beat that!!
