Well for today's activities I actually got a reasonable-ish amount of sleep, which helps! An early set off again (on time this time! :) on an hour and half journey we were at the floating markets! There basically 40 or maybe the guy said 50 different streams that all run in together. (the tour guides English is bad and it's hard to concentrate on what there saying when your staring at his huge gaping yellow teeth protruding from his mouth... Think Austin powers :s)
150baht (£3) each is for a ride on a paddle boat which took us on a 40minute tour ;) not long enough to do all 40 streams but the main ones :) its such a cool idea, I'm gonna pitch it to hull city council, why have Walton street market when it can be so much more fun to do it in princes quay pond!!! Oh yeah.. The scummy chavs over there that'd push each other in... Maybe not then! :/
Didn't buy anything because my backpack is literally bursting at the seams and is weighing me down :( but some of the things are so nice I don't think I can control myself much longer. Ive already bought these baggy gypsy pants that all the Aussie guys here wear and for like £3! So coups, you will be receiving a shipment shortly! Of like a whole rail full of stuff!
So even though I didn't spend, it was still a good experience and nice to just chill out while being shown around :) after this in the afternoon we went to see the river qwai, and the bridge that runs over it, photos to follow... I don't fully understand the importance of it but it was something to do with world war 2 and it was named, 'the bridge of death'! So felt felt real safe walking over that as you can imagine! NOT! There were postcards all over showing a photo of we're the train track that runs over the bridge just cuts off on the top of a cliff and obviously the train carriage just carried on going until it eventually crashed into the lake below it, killing everyone aboard... Nice :)
In the evening we ate at a restaurant down Kao San, forgot what it's called but we went there on the first night and had pad Thai and it was beaut :) thought I'd push the boat out and not just live off of satay chicken and had a Thai green curry. I chose it from the extra hot thai speciality section which says in capital letters, 'TOO HOT FOR TOURISTS', thinking yeah whatever I can handle this! Clearly I couldn't! My throat was on fire all night! It had 5 great big massive red peppery/chilli things in it that were so hot, they actually sting certain parts of your tongue!! Still though, it was so nice to have a meal full of flavour for a change and I managed to finish it all!
Afterwards we decided to go out, we met some friends in a bar mainly were all Thais go, there was one table of English in there all pissed, dancing around like idiots taking there tops off and showing themselves up! I stayed well away ;) the music is all English music like rihanna, gaga, Coldplay and randomly YMCA!!! Sang live, in a really authentic British accent by Thai locals!!! It's weird how British they actually sound, yet to have a conversation with them, they give you funny looks and hardly speak any sense...
This is the bar where I drank my first Mai Thai too, it was amazing, I cannot believe I've never had one before - this is deffo going to be my new drink! After all this we ended up going to this underground night club, switching drinks to Mohito's and getting pretty damn drunk ;) then when we were the last to be kicked out of there at closing, we decided we weren't done yet and ended up going to a street party and dancing the morning away :) some of the people there were just crazy, but in a really good way, they all just go to dance and have a good time and we were literally talking to anyone, dancing with everyone, and no one cares that you end up getting beer spilt all over you because the atmosphere is just so chilled!! :) Wowza, I've only just realised how long todays blog is... I can't stop typing, so il wrap it up, 5:30am came and we had to be up early yet again for Thai cooking class so we went to bed (well obvs went for more pad Thai on the way home first - it would be rude not too) we worked up an appetite doing all that dancing all night long ;) and then bed. Done!
