So 5:40am I've finally got to sleep and annie wakes me up, poking me in my side... She's whispering to me Michael, wake up some guy is trying to steal my bag! Oh great I was so scared I turned around behind me and no one else was on the coach? We were sat upstairs right the front and there was 6 of us that we're all going to Surat Thani, they sat us there knowing we were the last stop and everyone else behind us got off at different stops in order. So me and Annie being at the back of the group were the prime target for someone to reach their hand underneath the seats and rake through our bags! A girl I met in chiang mai already warned me that this is what they do on the bus and everyone knows to keep there belongings on them. So I already had my valuables on me and then I padlocked my bag shut and tied it to my foot rest, then I had my feet on it whilst I slept, no getting in my bag you thieving gypsies!
So anyway we checked both our stuff and nothing was missing but annie said one of the Thai guys working on the coach had come upstairs and crawled underneath the seats then was tugging at her bag at her feet which woke her up! How scary! Thank god we knew what to expect! Then he crawled back onto a seat behind us when she woke up and he picked up some rubbish from the floor, I think he was trying to play it cool and pretend he was up there cleaning up or something then he just walked right down stairs again! We didn't say anything as the guy clearly must have worked on the coach and we didn't want any of our rucksacks from the cargo hold to 'mysteriously vanish' which I think they would have done if we'd have caused a scene!
Anyway we only had like 20 minutes until sunrise and until we arrived in Surat Thani so I clutched my bag so tight for that twenty minutes! Ha! As soon as we got off we were like bullets from a gun racing to check our rucksacks! everything was fine :)
From Surat Thani we had to show a lady our boat ticket to the islands and she drove us for another 3 hours in a mini bus to Krabbi! :) then the same, when we got to krabbi we gave another lady our boat ticket, she exchanged it, they drive us to the dock. When we got to the dock our boat was leaving in 5 minutes they'd got us there just in time, we showed the guy the ticket that the krabbi lady gave us and he said no you can't board this isn't a valid ticket! We have not received payment for this! Great! What are we to do? Our boat leaves in 5, we have no ticket, the woman whose just conned us of our ticket has driven off and we cannot get hold of her!
So we had to buy another on the spot! How annoying it only cost £8 but still we'd paid extra with our tour operator for everything to be included all the transfers etc was all arranged so that everything would run smoothly! Clearly not a great day so far! So wether we'll get our money back or not I don't know because the woman with our ticket cannot use it in any way so I'm not sure what she gained by taking it? But how were we to know she told us she had to see our ticket as the lady before had and then swapped it we had no choice? Stupid conning thieving sly gypsies in this country!!! Rooaaaarrr!!!
Anyway we live and learn, and now I'm gonna hold on to all our tickets and our possessions like a ninja! Ha! So when we got on the boat, we had chosen this boat as Sophie had said they were reputable and it says on the leaflet there are only limited tickets to prevent overcrowding and to make it more spacious, we boarded and there wasn't a single seat left!!!!!
Seriously now, everyone is really starting to get on my nerves, I've not showered in a day, I've not slept in practically a week and if anyone so much as looks at my bag while I'm on this boat I will seriously throw then overboard!!!!
Haha rant over ;) I decided I'd rather stay outside on the boat anyway and tan so we went to the front and chilled on the nosey bit where Kate in titanic is like "i'm flying jack, I'm flying" it was better! We both burned, we were there for an hour and a half-ish but you don't realise how strong the sun is when you've got your feet dangling in the water :) and we were mesmerised looking at all the jelly fish on the way, they were huge!!!!
After that everything started to run smoothly, we got off the boat walked down the pier and there was a guy stood there with a sign for Viking nature resort, our hotel :) we took a short (couple minutes) ride on a long tail boat along the beachfront to our resort :) annie didn't want to get her feet wet getting off the boat! Haha I jumped in! The service here is amazing after spending so much time in guesthouses they actually carry all your bags for you here, give you a welcome drink as you arrive, and have bottled water waiting in your room! We were told our room was having something done to it u couldn't understand him but they upgraded our room free of charge :) not gonna complain!
The guy took us to our room which is right on the beach but set back into the forest, so there's like three trees infront of us then sand then sea!!! You have to walk up and down through tree roots and stuff to get to it it you can pay to go on a long tail boat back and forth if you like! We have a private shaded balcony with our own hammock :) you can get massages on the beach but there slightly more expensive than bkk and just go snorkelling! This is more like the life of pampering and luxury that I'm supposed to live! Haha
We dumped our stuff and left to go swimming straight away! It was already nearly 1:00 so didn't want to waste any valuable tanning time! We went straight in the sea, it's so warm and clear but it's full of like floating dead sea weed everywhere - Euw! :/ but didn't bother us I went and sat on a rock in the middle if the sea for half hour, then got into a sea weed fight with annie, then we went and sunbathed. I thought to myself il sunbathe a little while with no cream on just to start it off until I start to feel a tingle then il get the factor thirty out.....
... We fell asleep :/
And woke up again over an hour later!! :o we were burnt! And my skin was instantly feeling tight! Ouch...
So that night after bathing my skin in after sun we went for a walk along the beach to see what's here, it's literally one long beach across one side of this island, you can walk from one end to the other in under 30 minutes it's that small! But got everything you need we sat and had tea, veggie pad Thai of course ;) even though annie, the vegetarian had shrimp! :/ it's like 20% more expensive here than what it is in mainland which is still relatively cheap if your on a two week holiday here, but for skint, broke gypsie traveller types with the whole world to see like us, it's a bit on the pricey side!
After our meal we walked along the beach and found a little stall that makes thai pancakes!!! Sold! I meant to get one in bkk coz they do them everywhere there but never got round to it! Boy, was i missing out! She made them more like a pastry and beat it into a circle first rather than making it liquid and pouring into a pan! So it was a flaky pastry pancake, drizzled warm chocolate on top! Could've eaten ten! But then annie would have to roll me around everywhere!
We went to a bar on the way back to our room, you sit on the floor/sand on these little mats with cushions on, it's real chilled. They come and get your drinks order and we had Mai Thai, can't remember how much it was but it was good, and comes with a little fresh flower in and all that...
The entertainment was a fire show, 6 different guys taking it in turns to do tricks with fire poles they were spinning them round in the air catching them, putting them in their mouth... Etc pretty cool and takes some guts but once you've seen a fire show you've seen a fire show! Then after that the dj got a group of 8 people up on stage to go run and get him a lighter, then a pair of boxers then a condom etc, taking away a chair Every time so someone left the game. This was probably the funniest show seeing one poor girl whose leg was in a cast go fetch things from the audience!! Haha wounded to be her!
2am, bed... Done!
