At first light large flakes of snow are falling heavily, but despite the temperature being zero it dosen’t stick.
Inside is 8C but within 30 minutes the heater raises it to 18C and we get up for breakfast.
The main road is running freely and by 10:00 everything is melting. Annick comes out to say goodbye and we set off just before 11:00.
Once we are outside of Brest the amount of snow is surprising with the land white as far as we can see but the roads are salted and no problem for driving. It thins out around Morlaix, but once we leave the N12 and head into the countryside there is more snow again and driving up through some woodland it is like a Christmas card with trees completely whitened. We stop for a short break in Callac before continuing to Etang Neuf near St Nicolas du Pelem, arriving mid afternoon.
The aire near the lake is almost silent, only the occasional car splashing along the road.
It’s too cold to decamp to visit either the lake or the museum of the Resistance so it’s a quiet afternoon reading and watching more snow falling.

roger Excellent restaurant on the banks of the lake; all of our second load of snow has now disappeared and we're back to blue skies, sunshine and 9deg. C.
