The rain started again just before bedtime and continued all night. Thoughts of visiting either Chateau Gaillard or Monet’s garden at Giverny are quickly dismissed. Thick frost covers the skylights when we wake and outside it is zero Celcius but once the sun rises the white grass returns to green and the temperature rises steadily. Very heavy rain in the night and still precipitous this morning. The gloomy grey does not bode well for our intended visit to Chateau Ambois so we set off to drive north. Light drizzle is pattering on the roof and once we are up we can see it is quite mizzly. After missing out on laundry the other day we decide to give it another go today. We find there is a large Intermarche in Chatillon sur Indre which is in the right direction for us. There is no reason to rush off so it is 11:30 before we get going.
