Today is start of week 4. I never thought that when they told us that after the first 2 weeks that time would begin to really fly by.. it wasn't until today that I realized this. In many ways it made me sad because that just means that we are that much closer to leaving, yet at the same time its that much time that I have been on my own and had time to grow in my own direction. Today was another day of long classes; mostly learning about art and history. It wasn't until after lunch that I got really excited for the day... the fashion students (myself included) got the chance to visit one of the local wedding dress designers in a town close to Ariccia, I loved every minute of it-- the fact that we got to meet a designer and talk to him and his interns for an hour and a half was just amazing and mind blowing. This next month right at the start of the break they are holding a fashion show that is being inspired by famous painters from the last 150 years and im a little sad that I won't be a part of it as a merchanding student and its also over the week break in which i will be touring Italy with my amazing parents. Even though they talked most about that today, i still felt so blessed to have been given this amazing oppurtunity. Being able to sit down with a current designer and ask anything we wanted was a little overwelminh at first, but his inisght to getting an internship in europe was exactly what I was wanting to hear.. thinking about the next couple of years I could honestly see myself moving to Europe to fullfill my internship requirement. :) After our meeting with the dress designer we hiked the 4 miles back to the Palace in Ariccia and then got ready for the art exhibit of our cooking teacher, Mary Louis. Her artwork that was on display was absolutely amazing. Its priceless and not easily described (the picture for this blog is one of them). Then after that we were on our own for the rest of the night until our weekly "rules" meeting in the palace.. well today was definately a sucess in my book simply just because of the Weddding annd formal wear designer; each new day brings something more to the table in this amazing part of the world I can now call "a little piece of heaven and home".
