Well we got up, had breakfast...full buffet in the formal dining room...swish! Then we headed straight out as we were worried about the cyclone. When I first looked out window this morning the sky was red but no clouds covered mountain. By the time we left it was raining and the clouds had covered the beautiful mountain. The trip was good...spots of rain and wind now and then but nothing too bad! The road was so windy...up, down and around...and start all over again! We did see lots of sheep though so not just rocks! And lots of pine forests! Stopped to take pictures now and again but otherwise just drove through! Our hotel room was ready...a lovely 1 bedroom overlooking river...very pretty. Wanganui is a river town...main tourist attraction is the river boat! We walked down town which was one long street with lots of flower pots over stores making it very attractive. We had an Irish pub lunch and drove to find ocean...very much a working harbour...no beach really...and drove up to see view of city, river and ocean. They made an elevator from city centre up to top streets back in 1900's to encourage people to buy land up there! I guess it worked!
