Well what a beautiful unexpected day! We had a day up our sleeves as I forgot we had to be out of our time share Friday, not Saturday! So we have two days to get to Wanganui....thought of going north but a huge cyclone Lusi is coming to north North island so we headed south! We stopped in Turangi at end of lake Taupo and went for a walk along the river....major river that floods into the lake...lots of trout! Went to swinging bridge...very quiet and peaceful! Lov...

Well I didn't sleep all night...must have been that HAKA! anyway had a really bad back and neck so got up, went for a swim and spa and found myself a chiropractor...really good one too! Had lunch, afternoon nap...yes I did!...Fred and I had a swim and then we cleaned up for our big trip up north...on road for 7 days now...and they are predicting tail end of a hurricane so ask us to batten down hatches....it seems like it is north of Auckland and we are heading so...

Well looks like our good weather run has slipped away...very cloudy and cool today. I got caught up on laundry then we headed to a little town south of here to look at an art exhibition which was very good...great paintings and wood carving...outside of our price range though! We went back to Taupo and looked at some lovely artsy shops....one where they make everything beautiful from wood...then went to a 45 minute 4D movie....it was so great...we went white wate...

Leisure day today....got up and had an early morning swim. Came back and dyed my hair. Spoke to mom on Skype which was nice. Then Fred and I went for a long walk looking at all the thermal pools and thermal streams leading into the lake...the streams have boiling hot water...you could easily make a cup of coffee with it..and it would be too hot to drink! Back home to rest/update computer, a bite of lunch and then we took bikes from time share...they supply bikes ...

Well exactly half way through our holiday...we needed this week to,relax a bit and stay in one place more than 2 nights! Today we got up early and drove out of town to catch a river boat on Wypero River which will take us to Huka Falls. We got there early so we could see the dam open which opens 3 times a day...went for a bush trek to get a good view of it...amazing!
