Nothing much to report today. Just drove from Timaru to Christchurch. Stopped for a smoke where photo was taken. Lovely views of the snow capped peaks of mount cook and others. Hoping to get a clear birds eye view of them tomorrow when we fly.

Dad drove all day today. Drove from Dunedin to Timaru stopping on the way. First through Dunedin. Saturday morning, 1st Saturday of December and the 'city' centre was dead. Looked like a nice city though. Stopped after an hour or so at Shag point to look at seals asleep on the rocks before heading off. Next stop was 'Moeraki boulders'. Big marbles strewn across the beach. Stopped and walked amongst them before having an early lunch and a browse in the gift shop...

Nothing to say for the past two days. Yesterday drove here from Queenstown. I was allowed to do a bit of driving before handing it back and I feel asleep. Got to campsite and went in the indoor (slightly heated) pool before going into the spa for 20 mins. Today mum and dad went into Dunedin. Picked up this morning at 8:15 to go on Skipper Jet. It's an hour long drive there with most of the journey done on a narrow gravel road on the side of the canyon. I think the drive to and from was more exhilarating than the jet boat. We had a 25 min ride and Andy and Homer got a bit wet as they were sat on the outside. Mother thoroughly enjoyed herself. Got dropped off about 11:30 and made lunch before heading into town for a wander round.

Today we went to Milford Sound as part of a coach trip. Would recommend using a company to get here. Not only for the commentary and local knowledge, but otherwise your stuck on a narrow, windy, road behind about 5 coaches. Up early as taxi taking us to the coach pick up arrived at 7:05. Dad set his alarm for 5:30am. Mine was set for 6am. We stopped for a couple of photo ops on the way to Te Anau and again on the way to Milford Sound harbour. Picked up the boat ...
