Mum, Dad, Dot and Digger went out to the Castlemaine botanical gardens this morning while I stayed in and had a nice shower in Dots and packed my case. Today at Dots we went into Castlemaine and the surrounding area. The community are holding an open garden week so we went to a few of the properties on the way round. In the morning we looked around Castlemaine information centre and what was going on in the local community. Today a drive to Dots in Castlemaine. Without stops about 3 hours. Most of the roads here are so straight and empty that driving becomes a bit boring and you can feel your eyes going. I'm sure they took their road building plan from the Romans. Very straight roads. Been through a town (village) today where instead of having a war memorial they have part of a road. Early ish start this morning to Otway tree top walk. Got there for about 10. Unfortunately the next free spaces on the zip were at 1pm so we did the walk and meandered for a couple of hours before having lunch. Would highly recommend the food. The walk was amazing over the forest floor and a spiral staircase up to the tops to look out.
