Well what a crap nights sleep. Couldn't get warm, then needed a pee and then woke up scratching my bites. I've been attacked on my feet, especially my left. I've got loads in between my toes and one on my psoarisis. Sat out and ate breakfast. Can feel the sun on my face. Maybe even got a bit of colour.
I drove this morning to Franz Josef. Got into the town just before lunch so parked in the hot pools carpark and walked in. Had a very nice Thai green curry with rice. Mum went for the whitebait patties, which are basically a whitebait omelette and dad had seafood chowder. Headed back to hot pools and had a lovely afternoon. I had the 1st massage and then headed out into the public pools. By the time dad had finished his (he was last) the private pool was ready. They had 3 public pools. 36,38 and 40 degrees. The private pool was about 38. We got a private heated changing room as well. The water in the shower was glacial as well as a few times it got in my mouth. You know that taste of melted water or the ice from inside the freezer, well it tasted like that. We had the private pool for 45 mins and the changing room for 15. I left the private pool early to take a shower. I was prob in the pool for about 20 mins, as it was really designed for two. Came away feeling lovely and refreshed and would highly recommend it. www.glacierhotpools.co.nz Didn't stay in campsite in town. Motored on to Fox Glacier. Campsite is in a glorious setting. Taken a few photos but they just don't do it justice.
Time for bed, up early as driving to Queenstown tomorrow. With stops (cig breaks) reckon about 6hrs.
