Not really much to say for today. Stopped in Hastings for an hour. I keep forgetting that their towns are small compared to ours at home. Just wandered around looking at the 1930's buildings and general architecture. They've put a fountain up around the railway track. The street lights in the old town centre look like upended bent spoons.
Drove on for an hour and stopped in a lay by for lunch. Stopped at another place called Woodville which is whew the photo was taken. It's a relatively new cafe, family run, employing local people etc. very nice, but naughty tarts, cakes and cheesecakes.
Have ended up in Masterton. Campsite is not a Top10. Mawley caravan park. $45 for the 3 of us. Unmetered showers. In fact they have 6 wet rooms. Going to try the showers in the morning. Done two loads of washing. Cost $2. That was for the soap powder, washing machine was free. Dryers were only $2. It was a nice evening so ours went on the line and all bar mums cardigan have dried. Heading to Wellington tomorrow to the Top10 for 2 nights. I know dad wants to see the city. Hopefully we can get a bus in!
