Up early; cup of tea on the balcony; things ready for the day; breakfast ready...kids still snoring! Once they'd woken we were quickly on the road to Los Christianos and found a great parking spot.
The beach was straight down the big hill (it seems obvious now that the significance of that was that later the car would be up a big hill but at the time we were amazed to park so close).
The beach was largely deserted, it's a man made golden sand beach with slow shelving dips into a calm sea. The sea was cold but after a few yelps we were out swimming in it. Me and Steve swapped our time between Kayla swimming at sea and Edward burying figures in the sand whilst pretend to be a red power ranger.
At lunchtime we gathered our things and went for a walk past the shops that lined the beach and into a cafeteria/ice-cream parlour. The girls there were lovely as we communicated with each other in broken Spanglish....they even brought clothes out and scrubbed Kayla's dress to remove the Nutella stains (she then promptly spilt bubblegum ice-cream in the same spot).
Afterwards we trekked back to the car (with stops for drinks and recovery) and headed for Palm Mar and a date with the pool.
A leisurely afternoon of pool, playing, tea and tv followed before a stroll to the slide. We got another wash done too, there are currently no dirty clothes in the apartment and it'll hopefully just be suitcases of clean clothes we take home.
