Los Cristianos was our destination today. We parked up and walked down to the beach-via a park of course. Last time we were here there were JCBs creating a new beach but this time it was a mass of volleyball tournaments, sunbeds and people building wonderful sand sculptures in the hope of a coin.
We wandered along past the new beach and Port up to the main beach with its lovely golden sand and gentle waves. Kayla of course went straight into the sea whilst Ed made sand pictures on the beach.
After a while we went for lunch in a lovely beachside cafe and watched a big boat unloading from a neighbouring island. Two old fashioned pirate boats operate in the port and spent the time coming and going with holiday makers.
Edward made friends with a Spanish surf guy because he thought Edward said he liked his hair...Edward was actually just telling him he didn't like his toastie but they hi-5'd and had a weird conversation for a while.
After lunch we went back to the car to escape the fierce sun. Ed fell over and cut his elbow and it was bleeding so he had to have a plaster, he was brave though and didn't cry but did say 'ouchy' over and over.
In the afternoon Edward slept at the apartment so we relaxed before having a lovely picnic style tea. In the evening we went to las Galletas and watched all the surfers out at sea. Friday night in las Galletas is great, the locals were either surfing or sitting in beachside bars looking like something you'd imagine in the Caribbean.
There's been many planes overhead tonight bringing new holiday makers, we're feeling quiet protective of our island now so have been wishing they'd all go home!!
